Not my usual post, but a fun one none the less. My in-laws moved away and left behind this really cool toaster. Unfortunately, it was super cool, as in, it didn’t get hot. In fact, it didn’t work at all.

After taking it apart, I was able to find out that the roll up cord assembly was broken inside. So, I removed it and soldered the wires directly from the cord to the intended components.
And, praise the Lord, it works! Now we have a really great toaster with self lowering and raising apparatus, fancy bagel settings, and extra large slots that work great for when my wife makes home made bread!

Linux – keep it simple.
